About Jo

Jo Vallejo is qualified in every way to fulfill the needs of anyone buying or selling a home. She brings engaging kindness to the professional table. Jo’s acumen in the real estate field is built on years of honing her skills working with mortgage brokers, banks, and lenders starting in 1997. As an outside sales executive and later an account liaison for wholesale mortgage bankers around the Bay Area, she became so proficient at managing a loan file from start to finish that she was able to float across departments to help out when they were shorthanded. She knew the guidelines of various loan programs, making her competent to assist underwriters when they were falling behind. She was self-trained to prepare and assist in drawing loan documents for signing.  She was ready to intercept loan documents for final auditing so she could push loans to funding and closing. Jo became such a valued employee that she was included in management meetings, and involved in presentations to various financial investors. Jo loved the challenges that wholesale lending brought and appreciated the knowledge it gave her. Little did she know what great impact all this exposure would have on her career.

 In 2002, Jo obtained her real estate license and joined a San Diego brokerage where she ran a satellite branch for Windsor Capital Mortgage. Her office regularly ranked in the top 10% in production, out of 4,000 agents spread throughout Northern and Southern California. She credits such success to the time spent in wholesale lending. Jo had a birds-eye view of the entire real estate process;  she could see the loan through the eyes of an underwriter, assess home values through the perspective of an appraiser, and foresee and address potential issues to avoid delays or denials. This was crucial in a time when the market was competitive. Real estate agents relied on her expertise.  This also spared her clients stress and heartache. Jo had zero loan denials and 99% of her transactions closed early or on time!

 

In 2004 Jo opened up her own independent lending firm and enjoyed every moment of it. She valued her relationships with many banking sales representatives and title companies.  She loved working with families and helping them reach their dreams in homeownership. Her ability to pre-approve her clients gave them the confidence they needed when they started shopping for their homes.  Jo earned a good reputation with the local agents which was important when writing qualified offers. As you can see, Jo poured her passion and care into all her clients. 

In 2011 Davis welcomed Jo and her family. She worked downtown at a mortgage office and then for a title company as an escrow officer where she met Joyce Bimson.  In 2015 Jo joined Joyce at Hearth Stone Properties. Jo's talent for having a well-rounded perspective of the entire lending process is a valuable addition to the team. Working side-by-side with Joyce has been such a blessing to her. Jo has said that becoming a partner with Joyce is a dream come true. She really believes "Home is where the Hearth is."
